English-speaking neighbours

Would anyone be interested in forming a play-group for small children?

Hi, native English-speaking neighbours,

Would anyone be interested in forming a play-group for small children? I have two children (ages 4 and 2) and would like them to be exposed to more English, as I´m the only one who speaks English to them (they go to a Spanish school and spouse speaks Spanish to them).

I haven´t thought this idea through in detail (ie, place, times, activites, etc) yet, as I thought it would be better to wait and see if there´s any response. Maybe I´m all alone here in a sea of foreigners :)

Ha! ha! Only a foreigner could fail to catch the humour :)

Oh don´t worry dear, I did catch the humour. I am afraid I never read the book, but I´ve met tons of brits living in "alicanti" for years and not speaking a single word of Spanish... all of them besieged by a sea of foreigners. I do recognize you need ceirtain personal skills to be able to got through this. It´s not an easy task! Brtis are resourceful people!

However I do recognize Spanish can be very resourceful as well. I will never forget a wonderful cruise to Estambul, after visiting the Bazar a nice girl from Valencia made a comparison with Paterna´s (or something like that) market... "And, of course, they don´t have Paella" I said to her. She didn´t catch the humour either.

See, Brits and Spaniards are more alike than you think, we only have a small rock to climb :-)

Thanks for replying, all of you above, and for expressing an interest. I´m afraid I haven´t had any time to follow up on this idea - I´ll get onto it as soon as I can.
